Fire & Ice Festival


For over 20 years the Town of Qualicum Beach has been hosting the Fire and Ice Street Festival.  This years event on Saturday, May 2nd is themed The Fairy Tale Life and everyone is invited to create their best princesses and villans costumes through the streets of Qualicum Beach from 11am - 3pm.  The traditional chili tasting will be accompanied by other "hot" food items from local restaurants and of course the ice carving!  The day is filled with entertainment for the whole family, check out their website for more information and to get involved! 

 

Vancouver Island International Tribute Festival


Last year 4 cancer survivors started up the Vancouver Island International Tribute Festival as a non-profit event to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society and aid in the fight against cancer.  Their back for another year from May 22nd - 24th at the Parksville Community and Conference Centre and they've lined up some great tribute artists!  Elvis is hosting the festivities with songs by The Beatles, Roy Orbison, ABBA, Buddy Holly, Alan Jackson and more!  For more information on the festival, to see a schedule or grab tickets, head on over to their website
 

Vancouver Island MusicFest


The Vancouver Island MusicFest out at the Comonx Valley Exhibition Grounds from July 10th - 12th is looking for volunteers.  It's a great way to take in the festival while being a part of the action, and there are some great perks!  Volunteers enjoy a weekend pass, camping in the volunteer sites, five meals throughout the weekend, reduced prices on merchandise and more.  They've got a great line up this year and single tickets, weekend passes and camping passes are on sale now and we may even have some passes up for grabs in June.  For a full listing of preformers, to grab your tickets or to volunteer, head on over to their website.
