Grandmothers to Grandmothers


Grandmothers to Grandmothers are excited for their upcoming "Raiders of the Lost Art" Show and Sale.  Stop by and check out some of their quality donated art, from paintings to sculpture to stained glass, there will be lots to see.  The show is at the Bayside Resort from 10am - 4pm on Saturday, June 6th.  Admission is free and proceeds from the event go towards the Grandmother's Campaign with the Stephen Lewis Foundation.   For more information check out their website.

 

Ride Don't Hide


If you are starting to plan your summer, you'll want to add the Shopper's Drug Mart Ride Don't Hide at Maffeo Sutton Park in Nanaimo on Sunday, June 21st.  It's a great opportunity to bring the whole family out and help support local public education programs for mental health.  Registration online is already open here, or join them at 9:15am and register the day of.  Bike ride begins at 10:30am, there is a choice between a 14.9km or 35.5km ride with the options for families and beginner riders to turn back at the half way mark.  When bikers do get back the Father's Day festivities begin!  With a BBQ, live music, entertainment, children's activities and lots of resources and information on mental health programs in our community.  There will be prizes for funds raised, so grab your pledge forms on their website and check out all the details!
 

Qualicum Beach Triathlon


Image result for triathlonRegister today for the Qualicum Beach triathlon coming up on Sunday, June 28th.  The triathlon starts at the Ravensong Aquatic Centre with  a 400m swim, an 18km bike, and ends with a 5km run (for adults aged 18+).  The event is open to all ages, each competing at their own levels!  They even have a Tiny Tri for ages 4 - 7!  They warn to register early as the race tends to fill quickly, there will not be registration the day of and the first heat is set to take off at 8am sharp!  Hopefully you've got a jump start on your training so you can get signed up today on their website
