NANAIMO — Some of the highest tides of the year have created a much different looking shoreline in the Nanaimo area.
What are known as King Tides have created noticeably higher sea levels than normal and tides of about 16 feet this week.
High tides peak late Thursday and Friday mornings, before tapering down, according to Denny Sinnott of the DFO’s Hydrographic Service.
He said these high tides have the potential to impact shoreline areas.
