A cave painting has been discovered on Muna Island in Indonesia, dated 67, 800 years ago.
The finding supports the argument that Homo sapiens were in the Australia-New Guinea region 15, 000 years earlier than originally thought, and further challenges the claim that art and abstract thinking began in Ice Age Europe.
