QUALIUCM BEACH — Classic car buffs will be on cloud nine when a dazzling display of vehicles line the streets of downtown Qualicum Beach.
Seaside Cruizers Car Club annual Father’s Day Show & Shine returns with its 32nd annual offering on Sunday, June 15 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
While numbers are down slightly from prior years, club president Jim Moroz said interest in their annual event remains strong.
“We’re still going to have 475 cars and 50 of our own members, so there will be a lot to see. There’s a gentleman in Nanaimo who’s got a Bat Mobile, but I can’t see to get him out haha.”

While the event is free, there is a suggested donation of a townie per adult to help Seaside Cruizers continue its longstanding tradition of propping up several valued Oceanside area charities.
Guests are coming from throughout the province, Alberta, many Vancouver Island entrants and a few from Washington State as well, Moroz noted.
He’s constantly amazed at the distances some people travel to bring their prized possessions to show off in Qualicum Beach.
“Last year we had a gentleman and his wife bring two Corvettes from Toronto all the way out here — she had a new one and he had the old one. They made a road trip out of it and they just loved it.”
Moroz said vehicles from the 1930’s are particularly popular, stating there are many Ford and Chevrolet vehicles from that vintage era to be displayed.
Stating their oldest car dates back to 1900, Moroz said vehicles span all eras, including trucks, motorcycles and even modern day electric vehicles.
Thousands of people will be in attendance for the iconic event.
“I bet there was between 15 and 20,000 people there last year, we couldn’t get a golf cart down the street.”
Numerous awards will be handed out on Sunday afternoon.
