PARKSVILLE — Eight fire departments servicing the Parksville-Qualicum Beach region are accepting donations to help extinguish hunger and provide presents for youngsters this winter holiday season.
Led by Parksville Volunteer Fire Dept. since 1997, Fill the Boots focusses on generating cash to bolster Parksville based Salvation Army’s food bank, and compiling new, unwrapped toys for Society of Organized Services (SOS).
Parksville Fire Dept
Parksville firefighters will be at several Parksville locations on Saturday, Nov 16 (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Sunday Nov. 17 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) accepting cash and new, unwrapped toy donations.

Qualicum Beach Fire Dept
Cash donations on Saturday Nov. 16 and Sunday Nov. 17 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) are welcomed at at three Qualicum Beach locations.

Bow Horn Bay Fire Dept
Donations accepted on Saturday, Nov. 16 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at Bow Horn Bay firehall (220 Lions Way, Qualicum Bay)
Coombs Hilliers Fire Dept
Donations accepted at Fire Station # 2 (3241 Alberni Hwy) Saturday Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 17 Sunday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Fire dept. members will also going door-to-door in the Whiskey Creek and Virgina Estates areas both Saturday and Sunday collecting donations (9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.)
Dashwood Fire Dept
Cash donations only this year due to lack of space on Saturday, Nov 16 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at Meadowood Store (1221 Meadowood Way)
Deep Bay Fire Dept
Food and cash donations accepted on Saturday, Nov 16 (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at Deep Bay fire hall at 5301 Mountainview Rd.)
Errington Fire Dept
Cash, food and toy donations accepted on Saturday, Nov 16 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at Co-op gas bar at corner of Church Rd./Alberni Hwy. (1401 Alberni Hwy.)
Nanoose Fire Dept
Cash and grocery store gift card donations accepted on Saturday, Nov. 16 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) Springford Farm (1934 Northwest Bay Rd.) and Quality Foods at Red Gap Centre.
