NANAIMO — Walk, run, or roll for a good cause as the Nanaimo Community Hospice Society is hosting its annual Hike for Hospice.
Once again being held at Westwood Lake on Saturday, Sep. 10 with organizer Sarah Bramley saying this important, long-running event will be held rain or shine.
“Not only are we trying to create some awareness of the programs and services we offer the Nanaimo and greater Nanaimo community, but also to raise funds to help with our programs.”
She said much like other non-profit groups, they’ve seen an uptick in interest in the programs and support services they offer.
“We’re seeing a huge demand within our children’s counselling and support programs. We’re really hoping to be able to allocate funds to be able to continue providing the support we do for Nanaimo.”
Registration is at 10:00 a.m. with the hike starting at 11:00 a.m., and it’s open to all ages and abilities, four-legged friends included.
“Bring your dog, bring your kids, bring your mom, whomever wants to come out and participate.”
Even if you can’t participate in the event you can still donate by going to nanaimohospice.com/hike-for-hospice-2022.
