QUALICUM BEACH – Not a big turnout for a community survey release in Qualicum Beach, but it was well received.
The Qualicum Community Education and Wellness Society held a “Discover Community Cafe” recently. A one-stop shop for information, identifying needs and services and access to multi use venues were all issues included in the survey of Qualicum residents.
Groups will now be put together to work on the various projects to identify necessary resources, according to society chairman Bill Preston.
“When there’s interest and passion and a willingness to do the work,” said Preston, “People gather around the table and begin clarifying what they want to create as a project. And then clarifying what materials, equipment and financial resources are going to be required.”
Preston believes there are projects that could qualify as public-private partnerships.
For details on all the proposed projects go to the Qualicum Community Education and Wellness Society website.
