PARKSVILLE — The strictest level of watering restrictions are temporarily coming to Parksville and Nanoose Bay, as crews complete essential one-time work for the Englishman River Water Service project.
Stage 4 watering restrictions will be in place between 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 13 to 7 a.m. Saturday, June 16, according to a joint City of Parksville and RDN news release.
The ban outlaws high volume water uses, such as watering lawns, washing vehicles and buildings, while watering vegetable gardens and fruit trees is allowed.
Water officials said crews need to tie-in the new water transmission main into the reservoir at Parksville’s Springwood water complex.
The $34.5-million project to add capacity and increased treatment of surface water supply to Parksville and Nanoose Bay customers is slated to be complete later this year.
